Brief Thoughts: Trans4mers

Brief Thoughts: Trans4mers

Rated PG-13
165 minutes
Directed by Michael Bay

"We don't need you anymore."

This is the motto of the series. We've hit the high of the series with this one. It should just end with this one. These aren't good movies. They're entertaining, but they aren't good. This movie hit a high in all action with that final act. The mass destruction of Hong Kong (?) has never been accomplished in the history of cinema and will likely never be accomplished again. If anyone would try to top it, it would be a massive mistake. This final act is so big that only Bay can do. At the same time it's both a terribly scripted film and a master of a visual medium. This can't be rated, topped, or outdone. Bay needs to quit while he's (theoretically) ahead, because heads will role if he tries to top it. That being said, I'll absolutely see Transformers 5 out of sheer curiosity. It's not good, but it's absolutely memorable.
